I am not entirely convinced that she caught Ben. It seems odd that he'd be all the way out there alone and dumb enough to get caught. I think he put her up to it, had her run back and get Sayid, he wanted to be captured. We all know that Ben is Alex's 'dad' maybe he really is her dad, maybe Danielle is a big fat liar about everything.

I hope she is not an other, cause it would feel like a copout to me. But her actions are definitely strange, and a lot of times a good explanation for these actions would be her being an other.

The thing I think is weird (like there's only ONE!--lol!) is that Rousseau lived on the island for 16 years without EVER seeing the Others? She told Jack that she only ever heard their voices. How can this be possible and why does noone ever question her about it? Is it because she always looks so wacked-out that noone expects her to have an accurate perception of what's going on?

Secondly, Near the end of the 77 ep when Sayeed threatened Patchy & told him he did'nt need him for directions because he had found a map, Patchy is just about to say something when Rousseau Puts a gun in his face.
It would also explain how she knows so much about them & why she has never been captured considering there is only one of her & a whole army of the others who are also supposed to be highly skilled at hunting & moving through the forrest without leaving tracks!
I know there's also many reasons pointing towards her not being one but anything can happen in the next Hour!!

It IS totally weird that Ben would just randomly get caught while walking around the woods. If Rousseau is one of the Others, I don't think she willingly went over to their side. Otherwise 1.) she and Alexandra, her daughter, wouldn't have been separated for 16 years and 2.) Rousseau wouldn't have lived way out in the boonies on the island this whole time. She would have had all the amenities of suburbia living with the Others--even a Stephen King book club! 3.) If she was an Other, why would she need to set all thse boobytraps before the Losties arrived? (Are there still Hostiles left? I don't think so.) No, I think Ben used Alexandra to blackmail Rousseau the same way that he used Juliette's sister (and her cancer) and niece to blackmail Juliette.
