Will Desmond become a target?

The explosion has somehow allowed Desmond to travel back in time and he is now able to see flashes of the future. This is a superpower that none of "The Others" could have imagined happening out of the blue, but perhaps they have been conducting experiments on some of their captured victims to see if this is possible.

If they find out that he can see the future and is able to change it, he would undoubtedly catapult to the top of their list. But will they want to eliminate him or use his powers for their own purposes?

If they attempt to capture and control him they will be playing a deadly game for a man who can see the future may know his enemy's every move before they even think of it.

I can see it but I how would they find out? Desmond, Hurley, Charlie & Claire are the only ones who know he can do it... I don't see them blabing it around they don't gossip about important stuff let alone Desmond.. I think Locke thinks something is going on with him but nothing about flashes and such... JMHO

Eventually, Charlie will perish and when he does Claire might become so emotional that she will unintentionally reveal Desmond's powers. If this occurs then everyone will be talking about it and if one of "The Others" is nearby they will find out.

I don't think the show has given us viewers enough info yet on Desmond's abilities to know what the heck is going on with him.

But I definitly don't believe he is an other mole or anything like that.

How did I not see this thread untill now!! I don't think they would terminate him, more like use him for their evil plans. At least I really hope not.

First the Others need to hear about Desmonds "power" IF this happens then since he only has "Flashes" they would either need to teach him how to control this power or he would still end up being usless to them!!

The others must know that powers like this exist and can be posessed by anyone on the island. BUT

I just have this wierd feeling that the others don't know about Desmond. It's like an itch at the rear of my head, but on the inside. does anyne else get that. it's like spidey sense, but for Cables.
But seriously, They had NO CLUE about the sailboat, so they obviously don't know who sailed it there. I have this feeling that Desmond is going to save all of the Losties, because he is not in the Others equation. They may be con men, but they can't be good if not all of the option are known.

Yes! I completly agree Cable. They don't know everything. They are coming across things they didn't know about with our Losties.

As usual we are on the same page Cablerunner!! I think that since he is one of the few people who was on the island and has "special powers" he is going to be a major character for the rest of the serise..
