Uh... if Mikhail said he had been on the island for eleven years, how did he know about Locke being paralyzed if Locke was paralyzed four years ago? (SPOILERISH!)........................and in next week's promo Ben tells Locke he knows he was paralyzed. If Ben's been on the island his whole life, what's the deal?

There seems to be a lot of incongruity with time on this here island.

Well the producers keep insisting time isn't moving at the same speed we are assuming it is. But that was a great observation though I didn't even put those two together. Maybe Patchy was lying about his time in the island.

You're assuming that "The Others" have no contact with people outside the island. The ones on the island could be on the front line, with the real leaders pulling the strings far away in cities such as New York & London.

They appear to have very sophisticated communications systems so it shouldn't be difficult for them to communicate with their comrades. Have you forgotten that Juliet was approached by Ethan and another man connected to "The Others" at her work place?

It's natural that they know a lot about the people on the island.

No, I know that the Others have outside world contact. Ben showed Jack a tape of the Red Socks winning the world series, Juliet's playing CD's and not records (like in the Swan), Juliet recorded a video so she must have a video or digital camera somewhere, the newer washing machine in the Swan etc... I believe that the Losties were purposely on flight 815, ergo the complete life works of each one of them in the hands of the Others. My point might have been something to the effect of Mikhail maybe was on the same side as Ben (the Others) because he had that personal knowledge of everyone just like Ben and the Others did. (Don't forget Bea Klugh in season 2 was talking to Tom and Bena at the Pala Ferry like they were on the same team; then Bea Klugh turns up at Mikhail Barunin's house and he was suppose to be on the other side.)

I agree time is a key factor here on the island... We do know that the others have detailed files on the Losties.... Juliet was even able to tell Jack that Sarah was happy with her new life! They know the first and last name of the losties... So I guess it isn't that big of a shock for me that they know he was paralized.

That doesn't change the fact I think that there is a big factor on how time is moving or not moving on the island...
