 Mr. Eko
Eko, also known as Mr. Eko or Father Tunde, was one of the tail section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. He was a notorious war lord and drug smuggler in Nigeria before his brother Yemi's death. To get out of his country he hastily became a priest, but after Yemi's death, he seemed to take his role more seriously. Eko survived on the Island for 72 days before he was killed by the Monster.

I read that the producers have said that Dr. Marvin Candle/Mark Wickmund will make an appearance on the show, and not on a DHARMA computer screen or orientation film.
He was working with the De Groots, so maybe he is HIM, or Gerald De Groot is HIM, but Hanso is not on the Island if we are to believe the Lost Experience evidence.
My other theory is that the Others are the patients of DHARMA experiments who rebelled and took over a model society and twisted it to their own vision. HIM could be a former test subject.
Or they could all simply be other victims drawn to the Island over centuries or at least decades who had to accept that they were stuck there for good, because there's no way off the Island. A whole village of Rousseaus, maybe quite insane, just not wandering around the jungle aimlessly insane.
