Another thought.. do birds migrate just by an internal kind of thing or is it something else? Could the "sky turning purple" have any effects on the migration path? I know it has been 2 weeks or so (Lostie time) since the sky turned purple but, how long are the effects and how far away was effected by this?

Are animals effected by magnetic pulses? I would think so...especially if it is an overload type situation.

I think if they went to the trouble to catch the bird they would make sure the note is sealed from wetness and well attached to the bird. I can definitely see this note having some big sigficance later this series.

I think that someone on the iland who is not one of the others or losties will fine it.

that does sound like a possiblility... I have a feeling though the others will get the bird before anyone though..

When Charlie attaches the note to the bird's tag, as he pulls his hand away you can see that he has palmed the note.

So, either he attached no note, or a different note.

Neither Charlie nor Desmond want off the Island and their little discussion before Desmond grabbed the bird was how to deceive Claire so she would stop trying to catch one of the birds and stop this particular plan for rescue from succeeding.

Help me out Stewie... why don't Charlie and Desmond want off the island. If it was mentioned in the show, I've forgotten. Help a Alzheimer's victim out. LOL!

No, I don't think that it was mentioned on the show. I think I read it somewhere as a theory. But if the message WAS palmed, then that might further the theory as more than just plausible.
