Right, Tessa, but he didn't know about the sub until AFTER Mikhail mentions it. When you watch that scene, Mikhail mentions the sub and Locke's ears perk up (in a"what did you just say" moment)!!! When Sayid, Kate, and Locke set off to find Danielle and the Flame hatch Locke didn't know about the Galaga.

I think the "Why else would I be here?" is one of the most important questions right now. What the hell IS Locke's agenda right now? What was he gonna blow up? Is he just randomly following the words on the stick or does he actually have a plan?

Locke hasn't been the same since Ben screwed with his head in the hatch. He kept making remarks about how Jack is the leader and Jack doesn't consult you on stuff and manipulating Locke. Made Locke feel like a picked on cripple again. Brought up those familiar feelings of getting no respect (or love) from his dad, no respect from his boss, used by the undercover cop at the pot plantation... Made our dear Locke snap maybe. Now he is gonna show em who's boss? Maybe?

at the expense of sounding like a total geek, I suggest looking at characters puzzling like John Locke in the light of 'character alignments' that frp players would already be familiar with- a sweet & sour combo of 'chaotic good' and 'lawful neutral' is how I see the Locke character- at least at the present state of things, given that neither such alignments nor Losties have much to do with rigid and unchanging typifications.

Ok I will be a geek with you I shall start up a list of main characters and see what we can come up with for what "rank" or "type they are"

I don't want to state the obvious, but if Locke took some of the C4, that means that the entering of the number 77 into the computer was NOT a self-destruct trigger. 77 was simply notifying the Dharma Powers-that-be that the station had been overrun.

It also means that Locke probably set the rest of the C4 to explode after he left.

Charlie I agree with you.. I do think that Locke blew up the flame hatch to keep communications from being restored

not necessarily...if Locke knew enough about C4 to know how to disconnect one of them, he certainly could have re-wired around the one he took, to make sure the rest were still wired up. So entering 77 could still be what caused the place to blow.

I'm not saying I'm disagreeing with you...I'm not putting anything past John Locke at this point...he certainly seems to have his own agenda (his main goal right now being to confront Ben)

i think that maybe locke found something in that hatch that he din't want anyone to find out about so he blew it up.

If you remember some time passed between the confortation outside where Patchy shot Klugh and when they are leaving and the hatch blew up. It was light outside and then when they were all outside and the hatch blew it was dark. Also right before it blew and Kate and Locke are walking towards Sayid, Sayid says that Kate and Locke where gathering up anything useful. So it seems that Locke had some time to go down and get the C4 from the lower level of the Flame. As for Locke knowingly destroying the Flame..... I don't think so. I mean yeah he prob did it on purpose, but for now I am still going with he did lie about not knowing there was C4 obviously cause he has some, but I think it is still possible that he entered 77 without knowing that it was a self destruct.
