Others Vs Dharma were at war

It hit me like a brick. I was thinking about all the hatches that we have seen so far. The Swan, Pearl, Arrow, Hydra, and Flame. Most of these stations are equipped with an armory. Ok these Dharma dudes went to the island to studyand research, not to fight a war. So why bother with the machine guns and pistols. The Pearl had an armory. The Hydra had an armory. The flame must of had one because our Russian friend was well armed. I don't know what this exactly means but things are definitly NOT what they seem with the Dharma folk.

I do not believe the military men that were placed on the island were part of the original DHARMA initiative. I think they may have been put in place to clean up a mess, or to guard the ruins left behind for some reason. A definite war has been going on....now we will just have to wait for the who, and why.....

Anyone notice that the russian guy was willing to play along until Sayidd said they killed one of the Others? His reaction was to immediately attack and try to kill Sayidd.

Michael killed Anna Lucia after she said she couldn't keep killing anymore. And remember Mister Eko pointedly telling Ben that his killing of the Others the night the plane crashed, "had been a mistake"?

When Jack and the guys confronted the Others the first time (when they went after Michael) the guy Sawyer called Zeke said that if they killed any of Zeke's group, then that would mean all-out war.

Before the woman on the boat got shot, she said, "If you shoot and kill me, we will kill all of you. Every last one of you."

Alex commented to Jack that the only thing they really freak out about is the killing of one of their own.

And they would rather die than be taken prisoner.

Why? Have they been "programmed" to react that way? Or did Dharma do something to them (commit some atrocity) during their "purge" or "war."

Great point & questions Charlie98210... Very well that most if not all of them have been "programed" or "brainwashed" to react this way... Dying for the great good of whatever they are doing on the island...

Maybe the island was the last known un-mapped place on earth with these healing abilities,and they were in a war for it.

Or they know they can't have children of their own, hence a fertility doctor, so killing anyone means they are that much thinner.

I like Osgilian's point about the armories - I thought that was strange during season 2 that a science station needed a lot of guns, enough for an armory. I read somewhere else that everything in the Flame station had the Flame logo on it EXCEPT the bottles of vodka, which had the Swan logo on them (still everything was a dharma logo - which means Mikhail had been to the Swan or had intercepted the Swan's food drops?) and the bullets that Kate grabbed - the bullets did not have any kind of dharma logo(What? Dharma didn't have time to label those? or they just had to get ammo there as fast as possible?). Nobody ever seems to run out of bullets - not Rousseau, not the Losties, not the Others.

I Think that maybe The Dharma guys had something to do with this so called sickness people got & maybe harmed the othars children in some way & maybe???? the effect it has on children because their imune systems are not fully developed???? Whatever way...... I still think it's about time we thound out where them kids are!!
