Ever since we discovered Smokey could shapeshift I don't trust any of those pre-island visions, especially knowing that Juliet had a thick file on Jack - do they have thick files on everyone? Every time that there has be a horse, or father, or brother, or imaginary friend, or cat... I think it could be Smokey.

I don't know about mannifesting its self into solid living creatures but do think it can some how scan minds & lock into their memories....

I've always thourght that the visions some of them have had was somehow down to the strong magnetic pull sending out waves & effecting their brains?........so.......I might be wrong but i cant remember anyone seeing things they shouldnt since Desmond turned that key!! (Apart from Sayeed n the Cat) & thinking about it, if i'm right then Rose will start getting ill again unless the Magno forces completely cured her??

What if it marked all of them for death? Didn't Eko tell Locke "...you're next.." and Locke thought the "you" was plural? Charlie is certainly marked. The only question is Desmond...maybe getting his clothes blown off puts him in a different catagory.

The cat was not smoky because pacthy was talking to it.

NO evidence of smokey being able to shapeshift. Just lots of conjecture and speculation.
