James Ford
James Ford, better known by the alias of "Sawyer", is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Sawyer's early life was ravaged by the con man who ultimately claimed both his parent's lives through conning them, instantly orphaning him. As a child, he wrote a letter to this con man, hoping to deliver it to him in person one day. Sawyer set out to search for him, presumably after he left school, however he, himself, ultimately became a con man and became the man he was hunting, became Sawyer. Revenge plays a big part in Sawyer's life, starting with the real Sawyer. On the island, Sawyer has often used his abilities to con people to get his wishes, and keeps a stash of useful items with him. However, after the death of the real Sawyer, he has begun to rethink his ways and is slowly turning into a leader for the survivors.
He escaped from the captivity of the Others with Kate, and has formed a relationship with her.

Well it wasn't only a prompt for self destruct, it was to access the satelite dish and pallet drop also.

Where's the evidence it was a time based system? Your theory is really flawed.

The white binders
I think the white binders behind Wickman/Candle in the video are supposed to be the same but there are some differences. Most notable is the space between the shelves.
Also I wonder what happens if you push no when it asks if you are ready to play? Does it just ask again? or what?
Ultimatley none of this matters much, just things I thought were curious.

minisode chess
I wanted to bring up another chess game, the one between Jack and Ben in minisode 3. (If you all remember the mini-sodes), in this one, Jack and Ben are discussing the deal they made and playing chess.
Ben says something like, "the day may come when you want to return to the island" and a bunch of other stuff about the island. Anyway, at the end of the scene, Ben makes an "en'passant" move or "castleing" which is a tricky move where the castle and king switch places, (a defensive move).
Well, knowing how detailed the writers often are, I thought I'd take a closer look at the board. Here is a good shot:<ben=black, Jack=white> snapshot20080407184348.bmp
IMO, Jack is playing a sloppy game. He shouldn't have sent his Queen that far forward this early in the game. He's probably just distracted, but Ben tells him he's a skilled player, (just butt-kissing?) Any other chess fans like to examine this game between two main charectars?
