Tarot card vent

Okay I know Hurley's dad put the lady up to it, and she was just doing what she was asked, BUT... Just like a cop who counts gun shots while watching a movie, I use to read tarot for a living. The death card is not a card that means death. It's a card of transformation. Like the phoenix rising from the ashes. It's very closely conected to rebirth, paving the way to new and better things. It would have been better if they had used the Ten of Swords. Yes death seems more dramatic, Until you see the ten of swords. A body with ten swords like grave markers in his back. It means disaster even death. Breath.... okay I feel a bit better Thanks for letting me vent.

I noticed that too last night... I've had my terot read by a family member and I've gotten the death card and that is what it meant.. That it was a "new beginning" (in my case)
I think that this would have worked better in Lost since that was just before Hurley left to go to Austrilla and being on the island is a new start.. Kinda

Right, never had an interest in that sort of stuff. A Friend of mine was stalked by a Ouiji board. So after hearing about that, watching him throw it out, and then seeing it back the next day made me lose interest in those sorts of tapping in to any spiritworld.

But thanks for the input, this is why we have a forum, so many experts in various subjects.

I agree I DO NOT LIKE ouji boards. But Tarot is a bit different. When christans where being killed for their religion, they had to find a way to teach their children the tenets of the religion without being caught with anything incrimanating in the home. They created these cards to teach the kids, and still stay safe from the Romans who would toss them to the lions, or stone them to death. I have to believe that is why the word tarot is so close to the word Tora. (The jewish bible)
I don't claim to tape into spirits and I tell anyone that gets a reading from me to look at the cards as a kinda visual aid in a therapy session. Most people know what they need to do, and just need an ear to listen and give encouragement.

Indeed, monumentally fascinating. I would have never known that Tarot Cards had anything to do with Jews.

From my experience.. The cards pick up the energy or the like, from the person who shuffles them and gets the reading.

not only did i know she was going to pull the death card... but yeah. it doesn have to do with death and the pentacle cards dont necessarily have to do with the devil... its all relative. I wonder if hurley knew about it and that was his hint.

Ouiji bords are trapped spirits... in my opinion.. i ahve used one once or tiwce in JR high... to find out about girls... sure we found out about dead girls and lving dead girls ( rob zombie )...

my tarot readings have al been helpful. its all about if you are open minded and not offended my the idea of change in life. good change of course.

HURLEY was changing... but the card reader was so suspect it was halarious. esp when she said take of your clothes..
