Those who were "taken"

Did anyone catch the fact that the tailies who were taken have not been told that Anna Lucia is dead...murdered by Michael in order to free Ben?

Back when Michael killed Anna Lucia, I posted that I thought the Others had "brainwashed" him and might have programmed that homicidal impulse into him.

I also think that the kidnapped tailies have been brainwashed to accept the idea that the Others are good people "looking out for them." That would explain the stewardess's puzzled reaction to Jack's surprise and anger. She also seemed surprised that Jack hadn't known they were alive and well and living with the Others.

What do you think, everybody?

Why would someone tell them that Anna Lucia and even Libby, died? Seems random to me.

NO this is a huge point....

see.. if the kids and the worhtless watcher others found out that MRS KLUG told/ gave michel permission to do whatever it took.. ( kill people )then that would cause dissention amung the ranks and all those brainwashed others would start to lose faith in whatever they have been taught to believe...

and this would be even more the case if they found out they let michael go..

Another indication that the others control the information that their visitors are allowed to have. They are not the enlightened, free thinking group they present themselves to be. Manipulation and control is the key, just like all good science experiments.

Agreed, Ben - I think them not knowing about Michael, Ana-Lucia, and the general goings on at the Losties camp will be significant at some point - it shows that everyone at the Others camp is not equal, and could result in rifts that the Losties can exploit

That also explains the "factions" of the others... It has been said by the writers that there are more than one faction of the others..
