He is sick of dealing with lies and manipulation. I literally jumed out of my seat when he told SINDY to Get moving! her first two nswere were vague lies that didnt answer his questions in any way. He wasnt havign it, especially when she wanted answers she probably already knew. ( about anna lucia ) IN my opinion she wanted Jack to look like a bad guy in front of that snaggle toothed lillte robot girl.

And again when Juleit comes to his cage the first time. I jumed out the seat and did a backflip. " let me simplify it for you! i am not going to help you or Henry" I love it. no mor BS. now that Kate is safe. Jack is in charge. He uses the time that buys him to come up with a way to keep himself alive and gain a bargaining chip... juliet.

He even says this in the interview when he says "I wanted to turn you guys against each other"... to "cause chaos".

He tells henry that he needs jack next to him for a while. And what better way to control the others that to control thier leader. I LOVE IT!
Put a few strings in his back and be the puppet master, Literally!

We know juliet has a thing for Guys who take conrol of situations. so yes she is becoming putty in jacks hands becuase no matter what brainwashing thye have tried to do to her.. she knows jack is the best person on all the islands!

and yes... ( thanks to the tatoo explanation ) now he will be walking among the others but not be one of them!!! increasing his power and abilities to take control of situations...

I agree with the "I need to be close to Henry" thing. Jack tested the idea with asking Alex if her father was still in charge, and then got the proof when the note to the SCARY< CREEPY<WEIRD Isabelle commuted Juliet's sentence. Jack went, "aha! Ben (oops!) Henry is still in control. Time for a power play!"

I also wanted to add that in the episode it is said... Being Leader has its consequences.. Jack says there always are!!! and now that Jack is taking charge, he is aware of those consequenes and is not turning Captain Bunny Killer's Leadership consequencs against him... GO JACK GO!

Jack is a force to be reckoned with for sure. His character has grown from the sensitive, wimpy, sometimes whiney doc on the beach to an all out warrior. Jack is inherently good in his nature, but he can become quite ruthless when he feels it is necessary to protect the people he feels responsible for. He says he is not a leader, but in every situation that he is in.....even prisoner, he does take control of things somehow.

He doesn't think he's a leader, but the tattoo lady said he was; Locke told him he was. Come on Jack! I think he's fulfilling his destiny (which will make Locke happy)
