Kate and sawyer wont work!

So we get revealed in this episode that sawyer and kate probably wont work out.

This is my opinion and i have the following to back it up:

1- Kate calls sawyer James. shes calling him by the name his mother used to. This means shes sick of his tail between his legs attitude. Jack literally gave his life for thiers, and thats the type of man she needs.
2- Carl in that scene is like thier kid. Hes obviously a simpleton and has the cognitive abilities of somenoe half his age. With him ( aka a child ) in the equation. it is apparent that kate and sawyer cant ge along ( or raise one of thier own together ).
3- Sawyer and kate would have done different things with carl. they arent as similar as we thought.
4- If kate did/ does love saywer... he is not the only one she loves and he ruined that by assuming her reasons for sleeping with him. Assuming it was out of pity or something. Ths type of behaviour usually gets men in trouble with thier women.

What yall think? I know i am biased about wanting kate and jack back together... but i made notes this morn as i watched the dynamic and i dont see it working out. i give it a Highly Unlikely

I have to disgree. The conversation that Sawyer had with Carl I think revealed feelings that he had for her. Sawyer also said that it was for them, not Jack, which I think hit something there. I think with all the drama and everything that's been happening with them, they've butted heads a little, but I don't think it's changed.

i never said there werent feelings and possibilities for it to happen. But the evidence would show that it probably wont work out. Especially if you know Kates history with men. Kate is realizing that her feelings are strongger for jack.

I admit upfront that I prefer the Kate/Sawyer coupling. However, it seems to me that the way that the storyline is heading Kate and Jack's characters are taking completely different paths and it will not be allowing them to make much of a connection in the near future.

I think the tension between them in last nights episode was very realistic. She feels tremendous guilt and disloyalty over leaving Jack behind, coupled with guilt that her feelings for Sawyer are stronger than her feelings for Jack. Maybe she feels she compromised Jacks safety in asking him to save Sawyer.
Sawyer feels hurt by her strong feelings for Jack and her apparent guilt over their relationship. He also is not accustomed to getting so attached to someone, he views it as a weakness. Therefore he will tend to sabotage it, protecting himself.

I do not believe the Sawyer/Kate relationship will ever be a simple boy meets girl and they fall in love and live happily ever after in the love shack of life. Not possible, they have more baggage between them then could have possibly fit on board flight 815. They are connected in a bond of mutual love and affection that I do not see being completely gone.

As for Jack, I think he is going to be heading into a direction that is more central to the show, but not from the romantic standpoint.

Frog. Good point of view.. I will never be able to disagree with Jack's importance to the overall show. There is definite feelings.. only time will tell. we know how kate is when she gets close to someone she chooses to get close to... ( her almost getting maried episode )

the only difference is that NOW and for a while... Jack has been the forbidden fruit -- what she cant necessarily have. He doesnt persue her like sawyer would, has and will. he is not out of reach... and that will stick with her and only build in her. And sawyers inability to handle his feelings could eventally ruin it for him.

maybe sawyer will sacrifice himself for jack... or kate. We all know he loves her. and he'll probably get his chance to really show her. Like jack did when he said DONT COME BACK FOR ME!!

I think that when they all go back to save Jack as we all know they will... Kate is going to get an eye full of Jack "fitting in" with the others and possibly how "close" Juliet and he have become and that will throw her back in the arms of Sawyer... She is going to have to deal with that the way Jack had to deal with, Kate & Sawyer's Cage Lovin.... I feel Jack is not forgiving when it comes to his heart.. Hes been hurt a lot from what I've seen...

So it is Possible that Kate and Sawyer won't work. I was thinking what would work with Kate. Maybe...Kate and Crazy?

I am so bummed out and slightly pissed off by the way they portrayed Sawyer and Kate in this episode. In one episode they write off the sexual and emotional tension that Kate and Sawyer had and denounce it as "pity love." How much crap is that? The least they could do is give it a few episodes to stew while they (meaning all 3 including Jack) are free from captivity. It just seemed like a lame scapegoat that the writers took so that they wouldn't have to deal with Sawyer/Kate hookup. Whether or not Jack and Kate eventually get together, this was a lame end to things (I think).

I think we've been hooked into the never-ending triangle. Kate seems to 1) never be able to make up her mind, 2) always seems to want the one who is the least interested at the given moment in time.

I think the writers just like to keep us guessing. Remember when Sam and Diane (Cheers) finally got together? Fans accused the show of jumping the shark.
