Michael Dawson

Michael Dawson is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. He had parental issues with his son, Walt, but the two have bonded with their time on the island. Michael shot dead Ana-Lucia and Libby in order to release Ben from captivity; and ultimately caused the capture of Jack, Sawyer and Kate, when he made a deal with the Others. His whereabouts are currently unknown after he left the Island with his son Walt on a motor boat.

Default Why did Sawyer tell Danny to leave?
I don't understand why Sawyer told Danny to go back to his island, even after Danny had already told him, he would be killed for sure this time. And what did he mean when he said "Danny is a target".

Any thoughts?

I think you mean Karl, not Danny...Danny was the guy Juliet shot and killed; Karl is Alex's boyfriend who was with Sawyer and Kate.

but to answer your question, I have no idea...I thought it was dumb to just separate from him, when they could take him back to their beach, protect him, and get more info from him.

Yea Sawyer screwed up on this one.. Should have let Kate handle it.. I can see where Sawyer wants him to persue the one girl that he loves but I think that there are other ways he could have helped Karl.. Like when they go back for Jack (which I'm sure they will do) I think Sawyer is having trouble dealing with how Kate feels for him and Jack... He could tell she felt guilty for their cage lovin and now he is upset and confused... I think that he was giving Karl the advice he would do to get her back...

I think Sawyer let Karl go for two reasons.

1)Taking Karl back with them would only help Kate and the others know where to go looking for Jack and the others. Selfishly he does not want her to be so consumed with Jack because he is jealous. But, he also feels it is a dangerous pursuit and could put them all in danger. He would rather just live on the beach without confrontation with the others if possible.

2) He did have empathy for Karls heartbreak and need to be with his one true love. There has not been a woman in Sawyers life that he would be willing to sacrafice his life for until he met Kate. Now he understands that concept.

At first I was thinking -- What?! Take Karl back to camp and question the heck out of him!! Then I thought, aha, maybe Sawyer is going to follow Karl back to the Others town... Of course they could have questioned him and followed him back to his yard... But I guess Sawyer just doesn't want no more trouble with the Others, maybe getting caged, beat and almost executed made him a little nervous It is just the writers keeping us from getting answers.
