Mr. Eko

Eko, also known as Mr. Eko or Father Tunde, was one of the tail section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. He was a notorious war lord and drug smuggler in Nigeria before his brother Yemi's death. To get out of his country he hastily became a priest, but after Yemi's death, he seemed to take his role more seriously. Eko survived on the Island for 72 days before he was killed by the Monster.

Default Flashback within a dream

Desmond's flashback was different in that it was a time travel, dream-like experience. It was a combo of the real island life and the past life with penny. It was cool, but very twilight zone. Although creative, it was another bizarre tangent for the lost writers, who now want viewers to believe that Desmond travelled back in time and can now also see the future.

I honestly don't think time travel is possible in real life, and even in a electro-magnetic blast one could not travel back in time. Its also sad to realize that Desmond is probably doomed and will never see penny again, since the most important thing he'll ever do is push a button. So raising kids is out of the question for him.

I think his experience was like an extremely lucid dream. Where he could control his own reactions. Though that does not explain why he can predict every one of Charlie's near deaths.

As for Penelope, Desmond and her never seeing again is I think a 25 to 75, 75 being the two of them actually meeting again. If they did not meet it would be very bold for the writers, so I hope they ruin P and D's chances intelligently.

The writers are very lame like that. They only care about the flashbacks.

I would bet that Penny won't see Desmond before Desmond is killed off.

Its like the writers are obsessed with killing off characters before their storylines reach the apex. It happened with shannon (the shannon and sayid storyline), libby (libby and hurley), ecko (forgot about him already).

I do not think that Desmond is going to be dying before reuniting with Penny...but you never know. This show does not confine us to what we want or expect as an outcome for any character. As far as time travel being a true scientific possibility...it isn't at this point in time, that is true. Yet many great scientists have pondered it, and theorized about it at great length for some reason. There is nothing on this show that is really scientifically accurate at this point in time. Planes do not break up in mid air only to have most of the passengers survive with a few bruises. Plane crashes do not heal paralyisis or cure cancer...... Every person on an airplane flight would not have the random in depth connections to each other that we see here. Maybe by chance one or two might have some strange crossing of paths, but the direct connections that all of these people seem to have to one another ...that would be theoretically impossible. This is a fictional drama, not a reality show. The producers say the answers will lie in the realm of scientific possibility, not stone cold science as we know it at this point. There is a huge difference. Matrix style manipulation, time travel, dreams, flashbacks, eutopian societies, brainwashing, secret research gone wild...... none of it is very realistic, but it sure is a fun ride.

Well put Frogmeister....

As far as Desmond and Penny go I do believe they will see eachother again... We'll I hope!!!

I don't know that I can buy that Libby was in on it, though I know I have heard rumors that we will be getting more of her back story through someone elses flashback, not sure when so I guess it could be possible...

I hope we find out just how close Des and Libby were.

Shannon was pretty worthless of a character. especially since she was borderline incestuous... so yeah.. not a biggie she died. ( again some characters HAve to die ) Libby was perfect. As much as i think she is hot and i want hurley to have slammed it with her twice... it wasnt possible becuase HURLEY HAS A DIFFERENT path to walk. He has a different obstacle than , "getting a girl". He needs his confidence and to know that his is the creator of his own luck, not a bringer of bad luck. Having libby alive wouldnt really help hurley attain this as he would be mr puppy dog to her instead.... now he has one less distraction.. AND BOY DOES SHE KNOW HOW TO DISTRACT! Ecko was never going to be the main character. His story is powerful but not powerful enough to cary past a season or so...

Not even reality shows are reality shows. That lame survivor show is dramafied by the editors and those dealing with the footage. " ooh look richard hatch is gay and he had an argument with janet" lets put that in so people either love or hat Richard...

No show is ever actually reality, becuase reality is boring. no one wants to watch people go home and watch the tv. Thats what happened most of the time on "the real world" when MTV wasnt making them do actiivities...

but you are right about scientific possibility.
Matrix style manipulation, currently possible... ( though found in the form of hard ccore religions)
time travel, ( quantum mechanics explains this in a different way)
dreams, ( had one last night... it ws fun. i had a red wagon!)
flashbacks, (Completely proven occurences in todays world. if your brain wanted to convince your body and conciousness that you were somewhere esle or experienceing something you already have. it could. w e just dont know how to tap into that, thats why it often happens to those recovering from BIG time drugs... not grass and alc.)
eutopian societies, ( well thats subjective becuase what george bush thinks of as a eutopian soceity is not what the rest of us think)
brainwashing, see above--- matrix style manipulation
secret research gone wild...... Uh... they are cloning things as we speak...

I am saying all this becuase it is not outside of the realm of possibility and i like where you been going frog~!

She gave him her boat. That's a pretty big give away.
