I am pretty sure Sawyer wasn't traveling around with this kind of bottle of booze in his suitcase. Obviously he found it while scavenging through the wreckage as he did much of his stash. I don't think the bottle belonged to the airlines, but was with a passenger. I am guessing it was Libby. She gave Desmond the boat so he could compete in the race. I think she was in on it with Pennys father (widmore) to get Des to join the race. They worked together to make sure Desmond would end up on the island so he could push the button. She had the bottle to give to Des, a calling card from Widmore...... He really didn't think Desmond was of little value as he told him so sternly. He just knew that Desmond could not choose his daughter over his destiny to push the button and save future humankind. The bottle was a peace offering, a confirmation that he was most valuable after all. Of course, it is all speculation. But I do not think it is a coincidence that bottle was there on that island, it was there for Desmond.

It's just another one of those weird, out-of-place-on-a-plane things that are all over Lost! Widmore pregnancy tests in regular stock on a commercial plane? Wha....? $80,000 bottles of whiskey - for a plane shouldn't it have been in mini bottles like Jack's vodka?

yea those are both possible. everybody flies on planes right. well rich people drink whiskey and all the ladies have the chance of getting pregnant.

So the answer is......Cooper!!! Did you see the bottle label in TMFT?

Yea that would make sense. Its crazy!!! I caught on to that when I watched it again.

The "List" Was Cooper on it?

I do not think that the bottle of whiskey that Cooper had in TMFT is the same bottle that Charlie, Desmond, & Hurley drank in FBYE

Sure it is. Every time the script calls for someone to have a drink, the guys say, "Hey, let's use that prop bottle of McCutcheons again. It'll drive the audience nuts!"

If it is the same bottle of Whiskey then why is it full in Flashes before your eyes and 2/3 full when Anthony Cooper had it?

Same prop yes but meant to be two seprate bottles of whiskey..

They refilled it. And, of course, it is meant to be another/different bottle of McCutcheons in the storyline of the show.

I was just saying that in the making of the shows, the writers might not have specified McCutcheons when they wrote the script, but the producers or whoever "tossed" it in there just because they had it. And somebody figured it would give a certain "Twilight Zone" twist if that bottle keeps showing up.

I mean, we never saw a bottle of McCutcheons before Flashes Before Your Eyes, but that bottle has shown up in almost every episode since.
