 Desmond David Hume
Desmond David Hume was the lone resident of the Swan at the time of the Flight 815 crash. He was discovered by Locke, Kate and Jack a month later after they had blown open Hatch. After his failed attempts to leave the Island, Desmond joined the camp of survivors. Following the destruction of the Swan, Desmond gained a mysterious ability to see flashes of the future, with which he predicted Charlie's imminent death.

That's Thomas' Painting!!
The painting in Widmore's office is one of Thomas' from Claire's apartment.
So...somehow it went from an office London in the 90's to an art loft in Sydney in 2004????

Look over Thomas' left shoulder...it's half covered by another painting in blue.
It IS the same painting. You can see the number 125 and the squiggly face on the ep better than on the screencap.

From looking at the artwork, it does seem possible that Thomas did the paintings... They have the same look to them... I don't know much about art though

Des did paint it... was confirmed in the DVD. But maybe he and thomas shared some sort of Heroes like link... and he channels the art ability for that mural.

A starving artist dreams of a rich guy buying thier art. so it could be as simple as that.
Maybe widmore was stalking claire and saw the paintings.. or maybe he used the painitngs as a way to get closer to her. |
