Claire Littleton
Claire Littleton is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. She is Jack Shephard's half-sister, although neither of them knows this. She is the mother of Aaron Littleton who was born on the Island soon after the crash, and has done her best to raise Aaron. During her time on the Island, she entered a relationship with fellow survivor, Charlie Pace.

Thanks Logan for the site reference.... I do kinda like the notion that the site proposed that maybe there are two photos because desmond has lived this life more than once. Just for the fun of the thought, though

I have never read where the producers completely ruled out time travel. They did say that the passengers were not in a time warp. (like they landed in a prehistoric era with dinosaurs...lost in time kinda thing) To me, that does not mean that they are not exposed to others who may have the ability to travel through time. The island is in the current time and space that the airplane passengers live in at the time of the crash. However, that does not mean that this strange island does not contain a portal or worm hole that others may be using to travel through. If I am mistaken about this please give me the link to where the producers said there is no time travel involved in this storyline in any sense because I have not seen it.
As a side note: I do not believe a baseball bat blow to the head sent him hurtling back to the future. I just think his being knocked unconcious coincided with his being pulled back, conveniently keeping the producers from having to come up with some big time travel sequence and spelling it all out.

All right then..... I guess I will correct myself after doing some digging around. Damon Lindelof in a Sci Fi Wire article said:
"As the show progresses, he added, it won't venture too far into science fiction as its mysteries unfold. "We're still trying to be ... firmly ensconced in the world of science fact," he said in an interview. "I don't think we've shown anything on the show yet ... that has no rational explanation in the real world that we all function within. We certainly hint at psychic phenomena, happenstance and ... things being in a place where they probably shouldn't be. But nothing is flat-out impossible. There are no spaceships. There isn't any time travel."
Of course he also said this in answer to a fans question about this subject of time:
"It’s interesting that you should ask about time because… you know… you’re making a basic assumption that they’ve been there, y’know, as long as they think they’ve been there."
Another site noted about these two statements:
The writers could conceivably get around the "no time travel" (in the conventional sense of the word) clause, by evoking the idea of an alternate past/universe.
Personally, I have an easier time enjoying this show when I am leaning towards science fiction..... because none of it is realistic in my mind. The only way all of this could happen is, if it is a figment of someones imagination or a bad very long acid trip. I will anxiously wait to see how they work this all out and enjoy the ride anyhow. Since they are dropping so many time travel type of hints lately, it makes me think it is a bait and switch thing.
Special note to Benmer007: You were right and I was wrong.

I'm glad there is a mysterious fantastic element to it all. If it were real life we'd all just sit around in our living rooms staring at each other. Yawn! It's the mystery that makes it fun.... is it realistic? is it sci-fi-ish. I think I'll just go fight Ben and the Others on my wii and be done with them!

Not YOU Ben, Benmer, Ben (aka Henry Gale, I forgot that's what YOU like to call him) and the Others, silly!
