Claire Littleton
Claire Littleton is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. She is Jack Shephard's half-sister, although neither of them knows this. She is the mother of Aaron Littleton who was born on the Island soon after the crash, and has done her best to raise Aaron. During her time on the Island, she entered a relationship with fellow survivor, Charlie Pace.

The buddha statue was in the brainwashing film that carl was watching. Was desmond ever brainwashed in the room and somehow that was flashing back to him? Was the whole scene just exactly like desmond said - I have a concussion and the woman was his conscienceness trying to wake him up? That would explain the familiar images he kept seeing. Could that be more plausible than time travel (which I am not totally ruling out, although I thought someone said that the producers said something like everything on the show can be scientifically explained or something to that effect) It's nice to have some off-island episodes where people can look cleaned up and stuff. I lends itself to the notion of a world-wide secret quazi-organization doing all kinds of crazy things.

Namaste means "hello" in hindi. I qoute wikipedia:
Namasté or Namaskar (?????? [n?m?s?te?] in Nepali and Hindi (from internal sandhi between nama? and te) is a South Asian greeting, which is used when both Hello and Goodbye would be used in English. The meaning can be quite different, however.
Sanskrit na reflects a simple negation. Ma? points to ego, referring "I" and "my". Thus nama? means "bow, obeisance, reverential salutation, adoration to your inner truth", but not next to your ego, or more simply "not me". Te is the dative of the personal pronoun tvam, "you". A literal translation of nama? te is thus "reverential salutation to your inner", or more simply "not to me, but to you (I bow)".
