when eko said this to locke how did he know that they are next. Its not like smokey sat down and told him that hes going to go after his mates after hes killed him. And what did this message mean? The monster is after everyone that failed to push the button, Eko locke and desmond? Or everyone in general?

I, for one, dont think Eko said those words. I dont lip-read, but I was pretty sure he said something else. Closed caps didnt say one way or another, but to me his lips said something else...

So you're saying that Locke made up those words? Ive listened to that moment a few times on a loud volume and it sound something like that.

I'm going with what Locke said just because for dramatic effect those are great last words.

Who knows what Smokey can do. It can read their thought. It may have told him that it would kill the rest of them if they didn't stay away. Maybe Locke was paraphrasing. Eko could have said anything.
