Before we have seen several characters being mysteriously healed by being on the island. Locke can now walk, while Rose was healed of cancer (I think it was cancer).

Why were they healed but Ben has this killer tumor? Any speculation on this?

As I mentioned in some other post, it could be that the healing effects are either a) increased by a person's submissiveness to the Island or
b) deteriorate over time to cause the person even greater harm.

Or the entire story of cancer is bulls***!

I don't think the island has any "healing powers" at all... I think all of the healing / non healing going on is dependant on how much exposure the people are having to magnetic/electromagnetic fields. The less exposure or the greater distance from the fields, you get positive effects. The longer the exposure or closer you are to the fields, you get negative effects....

I also think it has to do with the magnets. When Rose was in Australia, the healer told her that some spots do not work for everyone. So ironically maybe the island will not work with Ben.

I think its more likely the entire cancer story could be bulls. Henry Still has yet to tell the truth. Although i did like the last confrontation when he tells Jack about "the plan" and how it got ruined. again prolly more bullish... but love screwing up the other's plans.

Yes to magnetic fields... Thats what those bracelets they used to sell did. they were magnetizes and help ease pain. who remembers they had like a C shape, all metal, kinsa gold ish...


Yes the spots and the Faith are the two keys.... You have to believe, down to your last molecule, that your being healed, then you will heal yourself.... if you walk around constantly doubting and being negative. you bring negative energy to you. rose wasnt in belief of the powers in Austrailia... and therefre they couldnt help her. She believed ina new life/chance on the island and bgan to feel better.
