God, Fate or Coincidence.

Just to see how we fans think of the question raised by locke, ben and eko.. is it God? Fate? or Coincidence?

I think what goes on is a mix of both.

When God plans our lives we live them thinking that we are in control, but that is only an illusion. God has planned everything. In the Bible God has said that He knows every time a person loses a hair on his head. There is even the famous Psalm that says God "Turns the Kings heart like a river."
The most famous portion (on this subject) of Scripture argues that God is a potter and he makes everyone differently. He then adds that no person has the right to say, "God, why did you make me like this?"
We humans are like clay and God molds us, that's cool with me.

I think it might be leading us to believe that this is the case. But Lost is all about deception and suspense and I have lately had a feeling that maybe the whole religion side of it is just a coverup for the real story. Because right now, everyone is starting to look at the spiritualness of the show right now.

You are probably right. But it will be fun to see.

Ah! but we also are given free will. God gave us the gift of choice. As a child I was born to a very abusive father. He had the choice to do what he did or not. I had the choice to stay, run away, tell someone and in the extreme I could have taken my life or his. I made my choice to speek out and move forward with my life. Others would choose differently. in the end, I agree that it is a mix of all three.

God is appearing as ... the black smoke. HA HA right...

If he can appear as George Burns then appearing as black smoke is not that far-fetched.
