Benjamin "Ben" Linus
Benjamin "Ben" Linus is the leader of the Others on the Island. Ben arrived on the Island as a child, brought by his father Roger to work for the DHARMA Initiative. Ben takes orders from Jacob, and is the only person who visits and speaks with him. Ben's apparent goal is to keep the Island and its special properties secret from the outside world, and he goes to great lengths to achieve this.

I think that is what I like about this show. People are looking for God or something to make sense in their lives. Ben beleives that God sent him a Doctor to save him. That "proves" God to him.
For some people all they need is to see the complexity of a flower.
I have a feeling that if people don't want to hear about God then you better find another show. All through recorded history ALL good stories have involved God.
|
Ok Hitler. ALL good stories have involved God? Which God(s)? Which stories? Stories about God are pointless, I'm not going to lie. They all end with we should love God and be nice people. Ok, we get the point. Ever heard of Troy or Odysseus, or for that matter any of the billions of awesome stories that don't involve your view on God(s)?
My point is that I hope the ending to LOST doesn't end with the same corny religious ending. I hope LOST is better than that. So far I still think it is. I was only pointing out the possibility.

My point is there are sooooooooo many other back stories and happenings that have no God in them . so why all the emphisis about that one issue .... But the point about life , death and God are all connected is true . And the other thing bout the smoke being Jacks dad ,Walt etc..... Jack found his dad's coffin , but the body was NOT there , when Echo got to the plane , Nemi's body was NOT there . So my thought is , where were they ? Who or what were Jack and Echo chasing ? I don't know if I buy the smoke imaging thing .

Counting your two references, I also made the reference that after moving the boulder aside, Ecko noticed that the coffin was gone, just like in the Bible when they noticed Jesus was gone. I see that as perfect symbolism and so I was also including that into my original thread post.

Righto, I agree I do not want the show to end in a corny religious way, the more entertaining the better, and on occasion faith vs. science is entertaining.
By the way do not call people Hitler, its kind of a mean thing to say, but you knew that already. God is not my bag of chips either (Body'O Christ Chips) but lets not call out people on religious dilemnas in the Episode Specific session. You can either start a new thread or go to this one.. Faith Vs. Science

How ignorant do you sound calling someone Hitler. Totally uncalled for. Respect other people's beliefs and maybe they will respect yours. And the stories of Odysseus and Troy involve religion and gods even more than some other great Christian stories. Why not tell stories that encourage people to be better individuals? And saying that the
show focuses solely on Christian religions is total BS. The show is rampant with Taoist, Bhuddist, Jewish, Muslim, and Hindi references. I think that the point of the writers including religious characters is to make the story more realistic and show it from more than one viewpoint. And there are for sure people who are not religious on the island. Try not to be such jerks, you religious and anti-religious fanatics.
