Jin-Soo Kwon
Jin-Soo Kwon (Revised Romanization of Korean (RR): Gwon Jin-su, McCune-Reischauer (MR): Kwo(n Chin-su) is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Jin was born into a poor upbringing with his fisherman father which he has always been ashamed of. After meeting and in order to marry Sun, the love of his life, he was forced into working into his father-in-law's mafia-type business in which he takes part in horrid tasks. This has made him almost scared of what he is capable of. Due to this, he was over-controlling of Sun in their late-marriage stage. Jin is the only survivor to not speak the native language within the group - English. This has caused a constant language barrier but after Sun revealed she spoke English to the group, this helped him overcome this struggle and has managed to pick up disconnected words and phrases.

This is good, but someone said up there somthing about them being on the wrong island, if you dont remember Ben was on the island captive of teh Losties... so maybe that was a motive or something?

Do you think we crashed on this place by coincidence, especially this place? We were brought here for a purpose, for a reason, all of us. Each one of us was brought here for a reason.

The smoke monster tried to take Locke. I think it tried to someone else aswell. I remember it sounds like chains or cranks like something mechanical underground. And when Locke was almost dragged into the huge hole in the ground... we saw a Huge Hole in the ground...
I wouldnt not be suprised if the island had some crazy mechanical infrastructure...

Hello. Just joined the forums.
This is exactly what I was thinking.
When Henry "reintroduced" himself as Benjamin to Jack, he stated that he had lived on the island all of his life. So any injuries or maladies that occur through the course of one's life after arriving on the island would take nature's course instead of the island's.
Break your back while on the island, and you're paralyzed. Arrive on on the island paralyzed with a broken back, and you're cured -- unless the effects return once you leave the island.

Hmmm...... You are right, of course.
Could be that the island does not permit inflicted injuries to undo what it has remedied. It made Locke able to walk and won't permit anything (other than itself) to change the arrangement, so it healed him -- really quickly!!!
Recall when Boone had to scamper into the Beech Craft because Locke's legs weren't working well? The island must have the power to alter its effects.
I'm grasping here, okay???
