Ana-Lucia Cortez

Ana-Lucia Cortez was an ex-police officer who sat in the tail section of Flight 815 when it crashed. She took a leadership role in the group and led her party across the Island, reuniting them with the rest of the passengers. Ana was known to be very emotionally cold and her background in policing helped her with her leadership role. Ana-Lucia survived on the Island for 65 days before being shot and killed by Michael.

Default The Cartoon

I wonder if it has any significance?
When Shannon babysit she was saying something about the kids watching a cartoon over and over again aswell..

The Cartoon Scene:
A scene from A Corny Concerto, a 1943 Warner Brothers Looney Tune that was meant to be a send-up of Disney's Fantasia, as it was composed of two satirical symphony pieces. I love this short - a classic WB 'toon - but what I find interesting is the content of the sequence shown.

The cartoon's second segment is set to the strains of the "Blue Danube," and centers around a duckling -- who bears a striking resemblance to a young Daffy -- who attempts to join a family of swans, but is continually rebuffed by the swan mother. Much of the waltz is actually sung by the swans; when the young duck joins in, his loud, off-key quacks give him away. However, when a vulture steals the young swans, it's up to the ugly duckling to come to the rescue.

Thoughts?

I think the cartoon Shannon was referring to was 'Finding Nemo'!
(not 100% on that but I remember thinking it at the time)

Locke is the ugly Duckling. At times he is outspoken in the group and has crazy ideas ( the hatch the button, the polar bear cave) but it wll be up to him to save the stolen swans...

I simply think that the relevance of this is the reason possibly why they have a Swan hatch.

Edit: Had* They had a hatch

Yes, I noticed the cartoon swans. Has to be significant of something. Or maybe it's just a memorial to the old Swan station.

It's the hatch's Swan Song, if you will. *rimshot*

I think that Lost is not random. The equipment they have on that island itsnt the most up to date. The TV they had was broadcasting that cartoon, but that could have been playing it off of the old skool 3/4" tape deck that was below it. Point being, I hardly think that the lost writer's would make all the other aspects of the show so good and hints to whats going on and then just haphazardly choose any old cartoon to highlight in the episode.

The swan reference alone is enough to prove that, but there is more to it i think. Just like the Locke airport dream...

Even the way they choose to shoot things....

how they reveal the 2nd island leaves some mystery...

season 2 finale on the dock... They shoot around how we saw the dock.... in very limited manner as if we were jack and sawyer... the dock on the main island must be on an odd side that DOES NOT FACE the other island... otherwise sayid and jin would have seen a whle nother island...

HAs anyone tried to drawn up a map of our new island situation....:?
