I'm under the impression that the Other's village is on the same island that the crash sites are (which is how Ethan and Goodwin could run to the crash sites) and that this second island is just a very small island with a zoological station, and little else.

So they live on one island and work on a different island? Hmmm. It is true at the end of season two Ben had Jack, Kate, and James all on the dock. Maybe they took them to this other island, all we know is season three started out with them already in their cages/aquariums. But wouldn't it be safer to live on the other island, too? Danielle has been wandering around crash site island for 16 years. I don't know - invisible island vs. crash site island threw me for a loop.

Right, but seeing double ( aka 4 islands) migth have been something you'd remember, drunk or no.... Not saying he would have even been above deck to look.

One thing to think about is maybe the energy of the islands cuases a specific oceanic current that returns things to the island..


There were good comments above about tunnels and connections to the islands... I think that if a sub was used to transport the heroes after season 2 finale, to a totally different set of 2 islands... again they would have known something... unless totally drugged and knocked out.

where do they get all of thier fuel for the boats and subs and hydras?

That's a question that has been driving all of us mad. Other then their possible being some sort of oil barge/boat that delivers it. Or a solar powered sub..Which I think is very far fetched, afterall one has never been built on a large scale.

And your points about Desmond are unarguable.

I think there are two islands. I seem to recall that one of Danielle's maps depicted two islands, one smaller than the other.
If that is the case, then I'd like to know what things are on this second island.

As for the idea of some kind of tunnel network, I wouldn't be surprised if that was correct. The Blast Door map seems to depict tunnels that all point in the direction of The Pearl, but each one on the map has a cross at the end of the "tunnels", perhaps showing that the tunnels had become blocked up somehow.

ooohhhhh!!!!! Danielle's maps!!! I forgot about those. Does anyone have a picture to show those so we can see if she had two islands or more? If she could have a map with the two islands then she could see the other island and the whole "cloaking" thing wouldn't really work.

Compare the profile of the Island in the map to that of the Island here -

They look very similar, and either of the smaller "islands" that the map shows could be large enough to contain the Others' village etc.



As I said, I noticed something else that is interesting. Here is a translated version of the map above -

Note the text that I have circled. "The Crater".

Now look at this screenshot of the Others' camp. Looks like a Crater to me -

been re-watching the episodes and yeah I it must be too islands cause that just makes even more sense now. The others really went deep with their deception.
