She could be literally lost.... like she was on the jurrasic Park ride and then the dinos got loose. ( would explain the dinosoaur that ate the pilot in the first season.. ) and then was stumbling throug the forrest when she saw kate...

totally plausible

Do we know that her daughter was taken by the others? and if so she escaped somehow... maybe she was in the cage before Kate....

what shes doing on the island now is the mystery..

We do know that she was taken, that was what Danielle said "They took her" (They is how she refers to the others as all the time), and what she flipped out about near the end of Season 1.

right... mabe they were hoping she was fertle and when they realized it may not be working they got kate and the 2 men she could possibly love. they want her and jack/sawyer to start repopulating the island.

would explain whay they are testing sawyer using kate and threatening him with harming her...

and we know Alex was working along side the Others, if not necessarily agreeing with everything they do...she was in the Staff hatch when Claire was there, and she was with Tom when they captured Michael, when Jack and friends were being surrounded by Tom and the Others.

Look at the pic closely of the other island on page 2. There seems to be a line running about waist high on sawyer but in the water- the water is 2 shades of blue- top and bottom. Sort of like it is a "snow globe" effect.

I think thats just where the sand and coral are a different colour. But I'm not sure, maybe you are right.

about the islands..

whoever said that the island that ben and all the others, and the island they are looking at are one of the same islands that the losties are on. Mabe the others took jack sawyer and kate into the submarine, brought them to two totaly different islands. Perhaps the other's village is on the losties island, they just havent been found yet.


And wouldnt you think that desmond after sailing for what was it, 2-3 weeks would have noticed another huge island right next door, and wouldnt bother telling any of the losites about it?
