Under water hatch?

We find out Jack's held in a cell that we find out is an underwater hatch or whatever. In the first season befor Sayid finds the french girl he sees a huge pipe that extends into the ocean. Do you think that pipe has anything to do with the underwater hatch? I've always wondered the significance of that pipe or cord.

Yes, they have elluded to there being an underwater hatch for sometime, and I personally thought that the cable was leading to it, sooo maybe it is.

I have wondered since my first viewing about that darn cable or pipe or whatever it was going into the water. I also have wondered and theorized (among many) about an underwater hatch.

But i don't think its likely it goes to the hatch Jack is in. Maybe another one? When we see the large view of the island when the plan crashes in this episode, the island is massive. That isn't to say where ever they have taken Jack isn't closer to the Losties, but it seem like the location of the underwater hatch isn't close enough to be the same hatch that cord goes to.

Now, like i said, the hatch Jack is at could indeed be VERY close to the Losties (which would prove most interesting)....but who knows right!?

I don't think it is close because Juliette is coming out from talking with Jack whenever she gives Sawyer his little jolt of life. Must be bad for Sawyer he got electricuted 2 times in this episode.

Poor Sawyer is always being abused!!! And all he got to eat was a fish biscuit and what looked like dog food. At least Kate was offered a lovely breakfast and Jack was offered the tasty grilled cheese - but he didn't want it.

i don't think that it's an underwater hatch... when jack opened the door not a large amount of water flows to the room.

Well the Hatch could be underwater. The fact that it didn't realizstically "flood in with water" could be due to the fact that shooting that with Jack would probably kill him and then where would we be?? They want us to think something about where he is and why and that was the way they chose.... my question is how is he going to escape? and will he punch henry in the face again on his way out?

It's maybe only partially underwater...

I bet that they take the sub to and from islands and the hydra us used to dock it.

Where Jack is is a medical room for dolphins and sharks..you swim them in,get them on the table,then let the water out..I think there another hatch that Joanna was taken into...
