Kate's wrist marks

It seems as if they showed us a couple of times Kate's wrists. I dont think that she got cut up just sitting there with Fenry-Benry not eating. And if they just walked her down to see Sawyer they wouldn't get that way either.

Maybe they have started what ever it is Henry was referring to?

Thats what I was thinking too. She didn't seem very happy to see Sawyer, and she was a bit quiet to begin with.

On the contrary, I think she was very relieved to see Sawyer. I think she was acting like she was because of whatever happened to give her those marks from the cuffs. She was also hungry enough to eat that fish treat, which leads me to believe that she never had the breakfast offered to her. I think when she kept asking questions, evil Ben decided he was done showing his nice side and her two weeks of hell began.

The question is what are they doing to her that is causing marks from the cuffs and making her life a virtual hell? Thought they were the "good guys."

It looks like they probably roughed her up a bit on the way from the beach back to the cages. They didn't show that part, so who knows??? At least she struggled with them enough to scrape up her wrists. I loved the "fish biscuit" part, with Sawyer and the "Other" guy....

Yeah, I agree that something bad happened to her between the breakfast scene and by the time she got to the zoo. Even Sawyer could tell it was serious and stopped kidding around with her.

Kate is not near as sweet as she looks..She may have gone after Benery,tried to take him out..perhaps he didn't let her have any coffee after all....that'd set me right off!!

I think everyone is reading a bit too much into this one.

When Kate put the handcufs on to start with, she had them VERY loose. Benry obviously noticed, or mentally remembered Kates past and realized she may easily know how to get out of handcufs, so asked her to tighten them. If you watch that scene, Kate makes them very tight (so the metal was touching her wrists on all sides...like a really tight bracelet).

ANYWAY, obviously it is in Kate's nature to try to escape...to get out of there. In my mind, the marks came from her simply trying to get her wrists out of them on the walk to the cage from the beach. Twisting your wrists hard against metal like that would obviously cause some sort of marks to appear. And i'm guessing, if you're trying to escape being held captive, you would struggle as hard as you possibly could to get out.

There are no other marks (that i can see) that would suggest any other physical contact or struggle between Kate and any member of the Others/Dharma/whoever they are. This is simply Kate's doing.

Not only switchfoot said, but to add on, the cuts are somewhat of a dramatic effect on the situation. Mostly to get Sawyer to make like a "I care for Kate" look, and it worked, I saw the look of concern in his face.

You have to factor in a windy, sandy beach too. If you get sand in there it could be bad.
Besides have any of you ever had hadcuffs on?

I have never been arrested but, I have had an occasion to wear them. It's not as hard as you may think to come away with marks. (Sheepish Grin)

didn't Tom (Zeke) say something to Kate about the cuffs, right before he said he'd get some anticeptic for her? I forget exactly what he said, but for some reason my interpretation of it was that someone else caused her wrists to be that way, not just her struggling between the beach and the cages. Anyone remember what his words were?
