That doesn't count... He was all drugged up, had a high fever and all he said was he loves her, did NOT even mention Kate's name.. Don't you think if Sawyer truly loved Kate, he would've said so by now whithout being all drugged up with a fever ?.. I admit he loves her but his love is not strong enough.. You can love someone and not be in love with it, right ?
