Just my two cents, but until we see a flash forward where a known character is using a different name I am going to say the person in the casket is someone we haven't met yet. So far we have only seen Jack and Kate in a flashforward, and if anyone was going to be using an alias I would think it would be Kate. Since she doesn't use a fake name, I am going to assume (for now) that no one is using a fake name and so the partial name shown in the newspaper clipping doesn't match anyone one, so its gotta be a new character.

But wait you say. What if a character has been using a fake name all this time and the newspaper clipping is actually the first glimpse of their real name? Well it's possible, but I don't think so. The writiers of LOsT just don't serve up cheese like that.
