I think that once the losties left the island, Jack was given the credit as the hero, who was the main reason for them getting rescued. So Dr. Hamil is most likely referring to Jack being the hero by getting the losties rescued and the most recent incident involving the car crash. Twice over obviously indicates a reference to something Jack did in the past as well as the most recent event involving the car wreck.

The only logical other thing that Jack could have done that would have received the attention of Doctor Hamil would be to appear on the news for something he did. Getting the other losties off the island seems like a pretty important bit of news, as did the car wreck incident when he pulled the people out of the burning car.

Also, Kate makes a later reference to this by saying to Jack something along the lines of "So, you're still pulling people out of burning wreckage." followed later then by a "we have to go back Kate."

Dr. Hamil could have only been referencing these two specific events when he said "the hero twice over." Unless, there is an event that has not yet been revealed, but I don't know why the writers would find it so important to put such a short line that many viewers skipped over. I know that lost has a way of taking little details that people have missed and incorporating them into later episodes (i.e paulo using the bathroom in one of the dharma stations) but I think that Dr. Hamil was just speaking the obvious when he said the hero twice over. Meaning the hero that got the losties off the island, and the hero that saved the people from the burning car.
