Default Libby and Dave

Anyone else pick up on the fact that Libby was married to a man called David?
Based on her weird appearance in the sanitarium with Hurley I wondered if this was a link between her and Hurley's imaginary (?) friend........Dave!!!!
How long had Hurley been out of the mental institution before he won the lottery?
Could Libby really have been married to Dave? Or just a coincidence?

Welcome Dekkard

That's was my thought when she said her husband's name was David but then I thought 'Libby's so nice and Dave was so obnoxous'. So I don't think so.

I've about decided Libby's "niceness" was an act. There may never have been a sailing husband named David. Instead she seemed to almost be a serendipitous encounter for Desmond who got his boat out of it. It may have all been planned to get Desmond to the island.

Are you thinking what I'm thinking? That Widmore hired Libby to give Desmond the boat after he refused to be paid off?

Then the shipweck was planned later, when Widmore's daughter found Desmond anyway?

Thank you. I wonder if anyone has noticed that a new element was added this season concerning the passengers' connections to Dharma? Especially in the last episode?

A serendipitous quality has been added concerning Desmond (how he got to the island), why he said the 'miracle" comment to Jack in the stadium (he had just experienced two "miracles", the boat and Penelope finding him), Libby and her boat (getting out of order, here) Kelvin (his ties to Sayidd, Kates father, and then through his disillusionment with his career, connecting up with the Dharma Initiative), and Ana Lucia and Jack's dad. No sinister "group" manipulating events...just random chance, playing havoc with Hanso's carefully laid plans to change the world through the Dharma Initiative.

Oh, and I liked how in the first orientation film they mentioned the social planning (can't remember the exact words or title) aspect of the project. If they were talking about european or scandanavian style social planning, those guys really like having everything planned out...practically to the final detail...hence the 108 minute timer. No time, really, to think out alternatives or independent thought.

No room for "random chance."

Add one more vote for the camp of "libby was assigned to get a boat to Desmond."

I like more the intertwining coincidences than a grand conspiracy scheme. Can anyone put together for me the connection Kelvin has to the group besides what we now know and his connection to Sayid?

Possible ties with Kate's dad since he was in the armed services.

I think Libby's encounter was on purpose...look at that awful wig, you know it was a "disguise."
