I don't think Charlie has a concusion because he remembered the 'blazing fireball' and the 'flying fork'. Maybe he's just in shock.

And what about in the Pearl, when they shot the journals into the air slot that shot it to "headquarters", it really just shot it nowhere.

The door was sent flying into the sky by the geo-magnetic emission realeased by the incident in the swan. But was the brilliant ultra-violet light and noise caused by Desmond's turning of the failsafe, or did it stop it??
