I was under the impression that the hatch door fell from the sky because the hatch went 'boom'. That whole time I was saying 'Don't let Charlie be dead, he can't be dead'. It was amusing, really.
But I agree with whoever said that Charlie is probably just in shock and/or has a concussion. Maybe he got knocked in the head by a frying pan or something. I just hope Eko and Locke are still alive. I don't think they are, but I can hope, right?

Oh my god...That charlie is compromised is the most ridiculous one yet. Not everything can be weird or strange on the island--the best part of Lost is that there are a few explanations for many strange goings-on. For the show to be good, Charlie doesn't need to be an alien or compromised.
I do agree that Charlie didn't quite act at the end as someone who's just been through a traumatic experience, perhaps a bit of bad writing. Or maybe good writing--he's just been through a traumatic experience and he's been greeted with open arms by Claire. Why not be happy? |

heh charlie was more interested in making out with claire than what had happened to Eko, Locke and Des.
I thought Desmond at least had definitly died, but the final scene.... i think he is alive, and eko and locke are on the next season aren't they? they can't just kill them like that! they were the best charchters on the show! kill charlie instead, he is useless! hah |

I was surprised - what with all the heavy and sharp objects in there - that Eko and Charlie weren't stabbed or crushed to death. Shouldn't they have put non-metallic objects in there, knowing about the magnetic force?
And...I just noticed...both "Echo" and "Charlie" are two words in radio talk for the letter "e" and "c." Heheh.

Also it doesn't explain the loss of navigational systems on board oceanic flight, remember the piloy saying that they were lost for a few hours?. It only explains for the crash. |

As to the drug plane, I was speculating. The shipwrecked Black Rock could also be explained by the electromagnetic qualities of the island (before Hanso and Dharma set up shop there). Perhaps the island is like a South Seas Bermuda Triangle. The electromagnetic waves wax and wane and pull the unsuspecting to their doom (does that sound sinister enough? he asks himself). Well, that's all that I can think of for now about loose ends.

Maybe the Pearl hatch was abandoned because of The Incident, and the experiment changed from the buttons not doing anything to really doing something. (just another thought).
