Nikki Fernandez

Nikki Fernandez was one of the middle section survivors from Flight 815 and is first introduced in "Further Instructions". She had spent most of her time on the island trying to recover the $8 million diamonds she and Paulo had stolen from Zukerman, her staged lover, before the crash. She received a Medusa spider bite that induced a deathlike paralysis and she died after being buried alive alongside Paulo.

Not a false memory, but more like no memory. When he arrived on the beach, Charlie takes a moment to look wonderingly at his burned forearms. Then he says, when asked where Locke and Eko are, "Haven't they already come back?" or something to that affect.

He's probably got a touch of shock or a concussion, that'll mess up your reactions, big time.

ps, after the hatch door hit, I was waiting for Locke or Eko to "drop" in...

(I know, but I have a sick sense of humor sometimes).

I think charlie could very possibly be compromised , perhaps ever since ethan first took him, Hes been a very influential character this season effecting ppls actions ever since him helping sawyer nick the guns. this episode he was playing ppl against each other, telling locke to go get desmond to sort out eko, and then helping eko. he manages to get away in time sumhow but we dont know about eko or locke... hmmm. hope ekos alive hes still the best character. maybe now the island can be seen from the outside world, now that the button is gone.

I think you're about right...the hatch machine did a full reverse-polarity thing when the key got turned...a kind of EMP that would violently repulse anything metallic (the hatch lid)...and then only 'stun' anything/one non-metallic (Charlie and Co.)...

Do you think that Locke will loose the use of his legs now that the magnet is gone, and do you think that Bernards wife will get cancer again? I think the magnet is what was making them all better. I guess these assumptions are only if Locke is alive.

Kelvin told Desmond that the island had a naturally occuring, unique electro-magnetic field. So, if he was telling Desmond the truth, then I would assume that the magnetic health effects would stay--it was just the machine collecting and focussing the field which was destroyed.

I hope Locke and Eko are alive, too. Hopefully, they hadn't had any metal implants put in (that would be something to worry about, eh?).

I'm just glad that they show was realistic about what damage that explosion would have on one's ears. I liked how they muted the sound. Good job writers! I really think Charlie was just in shock about the whole deal.

I just wish some lose ends had been tied up before they ended. Oh well.

Well, I think they tied up a few of the loose ends.

They suggested what caused the airliner to crash, if it was magnetic it would also explain how the drug plane got there, they explained how Desmond came to be there and what he's been doing since he ran off from the hatch, and they gave some more background on Libby/Elizabeth, told us who the leader of the Others was (Henry), and gave the course direction for getting away from the island.

And they introduced a new character (Widmore) for next season.

Oh...yeah...I almost forgot. We also got to find out what happens when you don't push the button.

Did anyone else think that the hatch door looked like a "flying saucer" when it was arcing over to crash near the beach? For an instant, I thought that they were going to imply that releasing the magnetic field freed a captured UFO and start a whole storyline about how protecting Earth against an alien invasion/attack was the real purpose of Dharma and the magnetic field equipment that Desmond shut off was the means by which the alien craft was prevented from flying.
