Obviously a lot went on that Michael isn't telling. He must've gotten messages from "Walt" on the computer giving instructions on what to do and where to go. He does this, disappears into the jungle, comes back later with his fake story all with a mission to free Hentry, because he probably thinks he'll get Walt back in return, which isn't going to happen. The characters in the show pointed out how odd it was that he just happened to stumble out at the right moment and whether this was supposed to be a trade and if the Others let him go on the honor system. I don't think he'll ever get Walt back. Too much work for the show to keep explaining why Walt seems to be aging a year after every couple months of island time. My money is on Michael and Walt being the next to die, or for Walt to stay disappeared with the Others with an appearance a couple times a season.

I thought Two for the Road was about AL and Christian going to Sydney.
