Dr. Jack Shephard
Dr. Jack Shephard is often seen as the main character of the series. He is a spinal surgeon and the de facto leader of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Jack has control issues and trouble dealing with situations that he cannot fix. However, this attitude of solving problems through reason has given him the ability to function well in crisis. Sometimes, if he feels guilt or pain over a situation he can't fix himself, he will do anything he can to fix it, even borderlining on obsessive. Jack is, most of the time, in control of his life, emotions and situation he is in and is able to keep a cool head in tense situations. Jack is also the half brother of Claire Littleton, although neither of them is aware of this. Jack has formed very strong bonds with Kate and Juliet while he has been on the Island.

sorry if this is in the wrong section, but my only complaint about the show is that it's too broken up. i agree with toad that the characters are fascinating and every piece of the story, action or not, makes it that much more interesting, but....c'mon! it's very hard to stay so psyched up when we have 1 epi, off for three weeks, 1 epi, off for two weeks, etc. i thought it lost out by only getting hooked on it in the summer last year, but the good thing was that they showed it EVERY week.

Yes, the network sucks. Blaim them.
For starters, reruns is a lot cheaper. But this time (and correct me if I'm wrong, since I don't live over there) they wanted Alias to have all the attention it could get. Always something like that, if it ain't a big sports event, its speeches with the al' mighty president or just a 'hey, i got a great idea, if we postpone next weeks episode like three weeks, we can actually entertain people during a longer period of time - for less money! hooray!'.

Back to Locke and his paralysis.
After Lockdown, Locke is inspecting houses for prospective buyers. That was why I was so sure that in the episode Dave, when I heard Hurley say he killed and injured all those people by walking out and causing the deck to collapse, that THAT was how Locke lost use of his legs.
I mean, think about it. How ironic, a home inspector injured by a defective, collapsing deck! That's the kind of weird logic that ties a lot of what happens to the characters together on this show.
But I was disappointed.
Oh, well. Maybe next time.
Que sera, sera.

Me, well, I'm a man of faith. Do you really think all this...is an accident? That we, a group of strangers survived, many of us with just superficial injuries? Do you think we crashed on this place by coincidence, especially this place? We were brought here for a purpose, for a reason, all of us. Each one of us was brought here for a reason.
