I've been thinking about why the Other just leave the people alone on the island . 2 things pop to my head.

1. The Others allow them to live because they are part of the Dharma project possibly and they are studying them. But then we would have to wonder why they "hunted" the tail section survivors. The only time we've seen them within the survivors is when they snuck someone in .... and this is to spy and what not... so maybe perhaps they are unarmed like Michael said, and they know they have the guns so they dont approach....

2. I saw this somewhere but it wasnt brought out to attention much.... Perhaps the Magnetic field that is within the hatch is possibly keeping them from coming near the survivors? This would be interesting. Some reason that they "cant" get near them... hmmm..

I like that idea, it makes sense in a few ways... If not because of the magnetic field, maybe because between them and the losties the cerberus security system is active, and to get to them they have to go around in i wide arc - (I.E. all the way to the "staff" hatch in order to pick up their costumes and beards, then along the coast to the "line"...) It seems like a quick leap from the ? to the Swan, so something must be in the way or else they'd always be in the losties' hair!

Hmm we're on the right track probably but i dont know about that,.... the Others seem to be able to get around pretty easily.... plus jack and kate had no problem getting to the place the Others set up before and told them not to come... so idk.

In that newer procedure video on the internet- like the orientation video- it says to keep the "electro containment field that contains test subjects" at all times. Although there is not proof I know of that it is real. Does anyone know if it is fake?

Umm... If the hatch prevented the Others from getting near, what is Henry doing still "relatively" unharmed in it?

Is he unharmed? i got the impression that the others were some kind of unnatural humans, the way (i forgot the other "other" who was among the losties) moved was unnatural and i got the impression the rest were like that. like on the boat they seemed flawless. But idk,.

the "others" that hunted the tail section members seemed to be more, primitive (remember the clip of echo when they were trying to bring back micheal) in there dressing. So far the others that have been spying on the losties have been more normal looking. Which raises the question, is there only one set of others, or 2?

The way they seem to move around in the jungle without a sound may be unnatural to most. But for people who stay and make their living in the jungle for years, its almost a piece of cake. Even soldiers who are trained in jungle warfare knows that it really helps to be able to move like that, and that is why jungle armies try to equip them with this skill.

The whispers may be just hallucinations. *shrug* but I once read a book (fictional) that propose that ions (both positive and negative) can mess with one's brain in great concentration (either just positive or just negative - no mix). Couple that with the electro-magnetic machine in the hatch. hmmm... just makes me wonder.
