henry,s is playing mind games with locke.

I wonder if maybe HEnry wasn't sent out by the Others to infiltrate their camp, and knock their leader and the most intelligent/curious person out of commission. By confusing Locke, the true beleiver in button pushing, and perhaps the only one who might ever figure out what is going on, he forces Locke into wasting his energy trying to figure out wether or not he pushed the button or not, rather than organizing exploration parties and raids... Maybe Locke IS his mission.

Yeah that sounds right to me.

Good point, I'm leaning more toward "Henry" didn't want to remain an "other" and he has form some sort of freindship with Locke and use that as a means to join the hatch club.

Not so sure. What about the whispers? They definately made it seem like Henry was serving some purpose which could not be fully realized once his identity was compromised. That is whey they initiated the blast door procedures. Remember, the whispers were debating on whether to drop the blast doors one or two episodes before. I am not trying to say that Henry is out to cause as much damage as he can, but I don't think that was his primary objective. His original target was one that required his cover story to hold water, at least partially.

I don't think he treat himself as a friend to Locke. Not after that smirk. The atmosphere would be all wrong if it was to be.

oh geez that does sound like that lol.....

But i agree that he is there to create turmoil and spy.

If you're talking about the "whispers" coming from that loudspeaker, that actually was a voice counting down. There was a short in the wiring and you didn't get to hear the countdown until Locke twisted the wires (after he got that electrical shock) and then we got a woman's voice counting down the seconds from until "Lockdown." Locke tried to run through the living area to get to the computer, (42 minutes to go, there) but didn't make it.
