Johnathan "John" Locke
Johnathan "John" Locke is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. His paralysis was immediately healed upon crashing on the Island, which has ultimately led him to believe he has some sort of special connection to the Island. He is sometimes shown in antithesis to Benjamin Linus, sharing several traits including the ability to commune with Jacob. Seen as antithetical to Jack Shephard, he and Jack are philosophical opposites and used to share leadership among the survivors, but now seems to be creating his own agenda for his actions on the Island and has broken off from the survivors.

If you mean the last 10 seconds - I don't think it got down that far.
there were still about 30 seconds left.

I think lostfan snw6 was referring to after the timer went back to 108. The simple answer for that, is that the timer does not show the seconds until the last four minutes. Then it starts beeping once a second. At one minute, it beeps twice a second.

○ of course, micheal. i cannot believe he's back. but the second i saw vincent, i knew he was.

○ magnets heal in this show. remember the magnetic pull in the hatch? well now we know what it's for i think. if anyone was to land on the island, they would be restored to perfect health. perfect for experimenting on.
but this makes me curious: if that's true, why is lockes leg broken? i think it would have been awesome if it healed the next day or something lol.
○ the preview for the next LOST. my god, i'm excited now.

Cool thoughts. Here are some of mine in response to the bullet points.
Bullet 1: That's cool. I hadn't notice that Vincent was gone, but, thinking back, I think you're right.
Bullet 3: The magnetic pull inside the hatch (behind the sealed-by-concrete-passageways) is something other than just the island. I think the writers are giving us clues, it's part of the geothermal thing Jack and Sayidd talked about. Or it is part of the secret power-source (the question mark at the center of the glow-in-the-dark diagram) that I think the losties should be searching for...that and the transmitter. If that transmitter has been around for sixteen years, maybe Sayidd could figure out how to boost its transmitting power (thereby breaking the "orientation rule" against trying to communicate with the outside world).
Bullet 4: Did anyone notice Michael's comment that the Outsiders 'have almost no weapons of any kind. No guns'? I wondered about that back when Zeke put that pistol to Kate's head. It looked like an old WWII lugar--an antique! This might tie into the idea that the Outsiders were Dharma people who were "written off" after the incident. Dharma armed Station 3 (the Swan) and the timer actually runs some sort of defense perimeter that the Others can't cross (those lines Zeke was talking about, maybe).
Bullet 5: I thought the flashback scene where Locke gives Rose her pill bottle back, really cool. The scene preceding it when she comment to Locke that they both know he's going to heal faster than is normal great, too. Locke looks at her and you can almost see him remembering the incident where she saw him in the wheelchair, but then (good writing) does not underline it by saying anything.
As to the breaking of Locke's leg, the island can't prevent injuries. Hence that fatalities we've had over the last two seasons. As for it healing the next day, that would have been too obvious. Remember, the show's creators want this to be subtle, there are usually multiple explanations for any given thing.
And finally Bullet 6: You're right. Rose knows things. And one of the things she knows, she hints at to Locke when they're sitting on the beach. I think she thinks that the islands healing powers don't work inside the hatch. Remember, she did laundry inside the hatch for only a couple of days before returning to washing stuff outside. I think she said she just didn't like it in there.
Locke, after sitting at the beach, returned to the hatch and began drawing the diagram with renewed vigor...as though he's gotten the message that the hatch was not the end of his 'mission.' Access to the interior of the hatch was just another stepping stone. Now he has to figure out the diagram and what that question mark in the middle is.
Comments, anybody?
Oh, P.S., Did anybody catch Sawyer's thoughtful look after being surprised by Jack having a gun? I think Charlie's gonna be in real trouble soon. Remember, Sawyer hates a thief--he beat the crap out of Boone when he caught him going through his stuff during the first season.

Or maybe, along with the fake beard, the gun was a stage prop?

Sorry, I don't know if this belongs here but...
Did anyone notice the "smiley" after Rose and Bernard left the beach? Something is sad because Bernard didn't finish the S.O.S. sign?
Just a minor observation but I think it's quite cute, that scene.

Whoa! That never occured to me! Of course, now they have Sawyer's, Jack's, and Locke's guns...probably Michael's rifle, too, although that's probable out of bullets (no evidence to that, just the idea that they didn't take him until he ran out of bullets and couldn't shoot them--they're sneaky that way).

That is one of the interesting things that happened. I saw it too. I thought it was very cute. A BIG sad face on the beach.
Here's something else that's interesting. Did anyone else notice that during Jack and Kate's massive downpour of rain, Rose and Bernard were dry on the beach? How big is this island?

Vincent was there when Sun was "kidnapped" by Charlie. If you'll remember, he startled her by moving past in the high grass before stepping out into her garden long enough for her to see it was him.
It seems Vincent's appearance is an indicator of an impending significant event, but it doesn't seem to be more than an indicator.
I found it interesting that Sawyer is a quid pro quo guy in his dealings with other Losties but actually seems to like Vincent and gave him whatever he was about to eat.
