One is in the day..the other at night...among many other discrepancies.

Yes I noticed that the picture was different to, I think that this is becuase at that point we were seeing things from Hurleys point of view, Hurley could have been thinking that it was 2 p.m. when it was really 8 p.m.

And we have to take in to account that it was cruddy camera.

Maybe Asylum Dave was real...but Island Dave was fake..like the horse etc...

Notice how Asylum Dave was always appearing to tempt Hurley to eat more...but Island Dave always shows up AFTER Hurley has pigged out.

This was the Mystery Island Cure at work again...for both Hurley and next, Libby.

The flash on the Polaroid created the darkness in the background. It is a cruddy camera, with a sucky flash. Camera flashes only illuminate their subjects, the background becomes dark.

Look at the Connect 4 pieces...they're under the celery dish in one and more than a foot away in the other...and where's the guy sitting down in the rear?

He didnt remember that they took his polaroid later at night, just like he didnt know he stole the doc's keys...

Well, although it does raise some possible questions, i'm just assuming that its due to the poor camera as well as human error. I've done photography for nearly 7 years now, and know the effects of poor lighting and equipment. Not that poor lighting and/or equipment can move connect-four pieces across the table, lol. But i don't think too much thought should be invested in the differences. Nice catch though.

Unhatched, Maybe he didn't take the keys. Maybe the keys were in his mind- like the shoe on the island.

Another discrepancy is the man to the left of the picture. In the shot w/ dave, you can see someone's elbow on the left, with the rest of the body out of view. In the photograph, the angle would be such that that person would be clearly visible, but he is not there at all.

I think it's just a matter of human error, after a number of takes and having to re-set the shot up to take dave out...then again, LOST is crazy like that...
