My first impression was that the food drop had been there for quite a while... and they had never seen it, even though it seemed to be on along a regular route. Just checking again for clues.. cant see any but if it is recently dropped then all the growth around it would be rather disturbed. Obv there wud be a noticable gap in the trees above it, but theres no view of that in either the episode or the promo for dave.

I like begrowwa's theory that their could be vaccination within the dharma food. (Even though it would be rather expensive and time consuming to do). Its been a while since they all had a bit of dharma nutrition and now its time again. At least we know Hurley would be nice and immune... Survival of the 'fittest'?

The first was Oceanic, but the second was very different.

I agree with the idea that all main hatches go into a lockdown when a drop is coming. Just to protect the hatches from something.

Well, just because it had a parachute, doesn't mean it was dropped. Perception usually rules our senses. It smells like poop, it's poop, but it might be rotten fruit? So it could have been dropped off by guys in a truck, or any number of things, like someone mentioned, or i twisted into my own theory, hot air balloon.

I think that "Henry Gale" called for the drop somehow on the computer. Obviously the computer has more than one function. Remember how the film said only to use the computer for entering the numbers? I think that "Henry Gale" put in a command on the computer. If he actually did enter the numbers, he must have already known the sequence. How could he have remembered the numbers after hearing them two or three times especially during such a time of panic? I think that the lockdown was to protect whoever is inside the hatch from the magnetism produced by the island. Maybe a magnetic field continuously surrounds the island, and it turns off only when supply drops are needed. The producers put "Henry" in control of the computer for a reason...

i maybe wrong but wasnt the food in a big net and not a crate and whoever said a blimp are most likely wrong because blimps are usually huge and u would see it.
