Prepping for Surgery - were they going to kill Claire?

Ethan tells Claire they are going to take the baby and return her to the beach.

When Alex rescues Claire, she says "They are going to cut you open," and I got the impression that Alex thought they were going to kill Claire, not just do a Cesarian section and let her live. Is it possible Alex was just confused about what a Cesarian section operation is? (or that they did not have that capability?)

What do you think, were the Others planning to kill Claire, and just keep the baby?

I think they were going to kill her. The sterile environment was for the baby's sake.

Would've probably kept her alive...ya know, for spare parts.

I think that they would have killed her. Yeah she would have been dead!

Is it just me, or should Ethan have had a couple of bolts coming out from the sides of his neck?

I was thinking maybe they would want to keep her around to nurse the baby. They do have a rocker in the nursery. But maybe the whole "lack of vaccine" story negates that.

I got the impression they were going to kill her.

Haha...he's an intense guy alright...but I'll say it again, my 2 FAVE eppys so far have featured him...last night being one of 'em!

Well, no matter what: killing her or stealing her baby, she needed to get out of there!

(the girl who helped Claire for those who don't beleive it's Alex) When Alex showed Claire the room being set up to take the baby. She said "They are going to kill you. They are going to cut the baby out of you tonight." I don't know why I believe her but, I got chills when she said it.

They were going to kill her, there is no point to the whole situation otherwise. Unless of course, the Others are actually, "good" people and were trying to help her, maybe the Losties have made a huge mistake, maybe the ones that are left are all the bad guys, and the good ones, have been taken. Perhaps there is nothing to be scared of, just fear of the unknown.
