Sayid Hassan Jarrah
Sayid Hassan Jarrah is a middle-section survivor of Oceanic Flight 815. A courageous man and a competent leader, Sayid maintains a conservative manner which reflects both strength and spirituality, and tries to atone for the demons in his past. Sayid spent a lot of his adult life search for his childhood-love, Nadia, hoping she is alive. Sayid's past as a torturer constantly plagues him. Through his skills and leadership, he plays a key role in the survival of his group, and exploring the Island's secrets.

What do you mean it wasn't the hatch's clock that ticked down.
Are you saying Locke didn't see the zero and he didn't
see the hieroglyphics? I am confused.
What clock are you saying that we saw?

this is where im still hella confused,
one of the clocks has 3 spaces with 1 character in each space.
the other clock has 2 spaces with room for 3 characters in the left space and room for 2 characters in the the right space.
i know the clock in the hatch that the computer is in, is the second clock i described cause we have seen it a million times, but where is the other clock that was shown in the preview?
i think locke saw the heiroglypics by the WTF look on his face, but im trying to decide if he just got scared and hit the button or if he recongnized the symbols and what they meant, and then decided to hit the button.

Determinative hieroglyph

That photo (of the symbols that flashed on the counter but it didn't stop on) seems to be of a particular determinative hieroglyph. Determinative hieroglyphs relate to the overall meaning of the word rather than the pronunciation of a particular part of it. That one looks like the glyph for "lift" or "carry".
You can find it here.
