Ana-Lucia Cortez

Ana-Lucia Cortez was an ex-police officer who sat in the tail section of Flight 815 when it crashed. She took a leadership role in the group and led her party across the Island, reuniting them with the rest of the passengers. Ana was known to be very emotionally cold and her background in policing helped her with her leadership role. Ana-Lucia survived on the Island for 65 days before being shot and killed by Michael.

Default A little light reading?

Has anyone else wondered about the mag. Kate said she found in the bunker? I don't know that it's a clue, but if it comes out of that place I start thinking.

The magazine was from the 70's, Farrah Faucett was on the cover. Also, hence Sawyer's remark about getting his hair feathered.

I think the magazine was another clue to the time when the bunker was installed, or when the last official dharma member occupied the bunker (he/she brought a magazine).

Default I use to feather.

That seems to match up with the era of the records. Nothing later than the 70'S.

Since we are on the subject of Reading, I thought that posting this in this forum was safe...

I noticed that the short story "An Occurence At Owl Creek Bridge" was handled by Locke as he was alphabetizing the books. I know the story quite well as having read it and seeing it teleplayed in the Twilight Zone. And since everything else in the show has some sort of impact upon some person or story thread, I was wondering if anyone can find a correlation to the series? Anyone who knows the story well of course.

What I noticed was that it was a full length book. I thought it was just a short story. I remember being sooooo mad at the ending.
One correlation - If I remember right, some union troops (damn yankees)tricked the main character, a southener, into attempting to burn a bridge or
some other type of sabotage so they could catch him red-handed
and have a reason to hang him.
This could be like Sawyer's con. He tricked John into moving the guns
so he could have them.
We have been told by TPTB that it isn't someone's dream, so that leaves
out that similarity.

Yeah, I think a lot of people kind of assumed that the hatch was set in the 70's. Well. Not set; but all the stuff. Records and old books and magazines, etc.

Default Kate's magazine

I know at some point Kate finds a women's magazine and reads an article on make-over tips (or something) to Sawyer after he lost his first pair of glasses on the raft. Awwww! That was a cute moment.
