I know scientists have hearts, but a majority of them did not use them in the 60's. The chimps are now in the best place possible for they're condition, though they would not be in that condition if they had not been a expirement for the better part of theire life.
Why did they have to endure some human choosing theire fate for them? "Ham" (pictured in my avatar) died before he could taste freedom, as did other chimpanzee's in the space program.
