James Ford

James Ford, better known by the alias of "Sawyer", is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Sawyer's early life was ravaged by the con man who ultimately claimed both his parent's lives through conning them, instantly orphaning him. As a child, he wrote a letter to this con man, hoping to deliver it to him in person one day. Sawyer set out to search for him, presumably after he left school, however he, himself, ultimately became a con man and became the man he was hunting, became Sawyer. Revenge plays a big part in Sawyer's life, starting with the real Sawyer. On the island, Sawyer has often used his abilities to con people to get his wishes, and keeps a stash of useful items with him. However, after the death of the real Sawyer, he has begun to rethink his ways and is slowly turning into a leader for the survivors.

He escaped from the captivity of the Others with Kate, and has formed a relationship with her.

OK, just saw it. I thought it was good, but not great. And I hate the turn Sawyer took. But did you all catch the whole Scott/Steve thiing.?
I get my wish ( from the which dead character would you bring back thread)
we get to continue the I'm Steve, I'm Scott game.
I'm telling you JT, the writers are spying on us.

I thought it had too many twist entwined, otherwise good.

I still hate Locke and I think Charlie is evil.

The episode was amazing! The Charlie and Sawyer in Kahoots thing was intriguing. Two of the Islands most hated people together.

I laughed out loud when they were talking about Scott and Steve, I hope that continues to be a recurring joke.

Angry-Lucia, hmmm well I have to say that I was dissapointed that she did not do anything wrong. I want her to go in to the jungle and get herself in trouble!

That was a good Sawyer con, my friend who was watching with me had her mind blown, LOL. "What just happened there?"

I had a great time watching this one, i did not have trouble at all sitting down in any scene (that is GOOD).

Hate Sawyer even more.

Glad Locke got his comeuppance.

Am mad that Charlie hurt Sun!!

Loved the episode in general. Great message/debate about gun control, but that's a whole other thread

I thought it was a darn sight better than the baptism episode. I love the whole backstory thing with the characters but they need to use them as a way to keep pushing the island saga along. The whole Charley-based episode just seemed to stagnate the whole thing. It kind of reminded me of when X-Files would bounce from the the whole blanket conspiracy going on constantly around them to a story about cockroaches or a Wendigo.

Yep, I was just starting to forgive Sawyer and think that maybe he did want
a second chance. All the time, it's been a con game.
I was hoping Charlie had learned his lesson in the last episode and would just
back off and let Claire cool down. Then he pulled last night's stunt. And he has given Sawyer something to hold over him. What an idiot.
All I can say is Sawyer has to sleep some time and AL knows how to
dig a pit. All it will take is patience on the part of the others. Sawyer may
never tell them where the weapons are, but at least he can't use them himself if they gang up on him and throw him (and Charlie, since they are such
good friends now) into a pit and let him rot.

Good episode but not the season best.

It's too bad Sawyer can't use his obvious ingenuity (planning complicated cons) and ability to read people and predict their actions to help instead of feed his ego or whatever he's after. Charlie's proving to be no better than his brother was in dependability; his brother's excuse was his habit but Charlie's seems to be ego.

The clear message that came through from last night was that you shouldn't ever trust Sawyer or Charlie to do or be what they say.
