Dr. Juliet Burke

Dr. Juliet Burke (née Carlson) is a member of the Others. She seems unhappy with her allegiance (particularly, it seems, with Ben's position of authority), and lives at the Barracks. Juliet is a calm, intelligent woman with a background in medicine, but unhappy with her private life and will do anything to get off the Island. However, it seems Juliet has betrayed her people and joined the survivors in wanting off the island.

Exclamation Libby Liar?

In her washer/dryer conversation with Hurley, when he asked her if she knew him, she reminded him of "when he stepped on her at the airport," which Hurely didn't seem to recollect.

I'm not so sure that it happened.
Theres alot of rumours out there in LOST land that libby might be an Other or lying about who she is... or shes hiding the real reason she knows hurley..

What do you think?

I think the most bothersome thing about that scene was thet it seemed like the actor who plays Libby was trying way too hard to entise Hurley.

Hurley was in a world of his own. He was just flabbergasted with what was going on. "You look, awesome"....Hurley

LOST and Jedi... I think you're both on to something...

That did seem very strange that Hurley didn't remember stepping on her foot, especially since he is so 'taken' with her now. He's obviously falling for her now on the island, don't you think he would have at least noticed her at the airport, too? And she did seem to be enticing him last night. Maybe that's part of her plan...

Hmmmm.....

I think what she said he stepped on her foot as he got on the plane.
It would make sense for him to not remember since he was so out
of breath and frazzled from runniing so late.
I'll have to rewatch it from Season 1.

She also described how he looked - sweaty, he was the last one on, he had headphones on...but she could've found that stuff out, I guess.

I *loved* the comment Libby made about the modern-looking washer and dryer. Was that an attempt by the writers to answer our question of production goof vs. purposeful placement?

We'll see, I guess.

I have to agree that Libby seemed to be as seductive as possible to Hurley. He reacted the way an easy-going guy like him would be expected to. I sense that Libby knew his personality and how he'd react and that she knew she wouldn't get a "let's get it on!" reaction like she might from Sawyer.

That tends to make me think that perhaps she was at the mental institution when Hurley was there and may have been studying him for some time. This would also fit with her fleeting reference to her work when she was helping with the rescue immediately after the crash.

She couldnt have had her foot stepped on, as she was a tailie and he was last onto the plane on his way only to row/seat 20G.

Hurley's being tested / set up by the island...or worse. It got Michael, has begun to drive Charlie mad, and now it wants Hugo. The 'sickness'?

Interesting that next week is a repeat of last season'sHurley's "Numbers" backstory...I bet they tweak it to deal w/ the Libby development...

I'll have to look for her in the psych ward when Hurley talks to his friend...

And another thing, Hurley did not put his headphones on until he sat down in his seat! Like you guys have said, he was in a different part of the plane so he could not have stepped on her!

Impossible! She is lieng!

If you want to watch the scene yourself pop in "Exodus pt. 2".

Hey guys, this is my first quote. Perhaps Libby knew who Hurley from the pysche ward and may have been assigned by her hospital (or Dharma perhaps) to figure the meaning of the numbers and what exactly Hurley knew about them. Thus, she followed Hurley to Australia and onto Oceanic Flight 815. Maybe she still is doing her work???
