Who is Jacob?
So if one watches the online re-runs of Lost, you can pause. This is particularly helpful in that scene with Jacob, when everything was going crazy. After Ben is thrown against the wall, they go back to the chair, and you can see for a brief moment, that it is a man with long hair. This may have been covered in another thread, but thats not my point. My point is that I think Horace Goodspeed is "Jacob." Him, and Annie (the little girl who made him the dolls), were the only two people on the island to treat him with respect and dignity. He has a doll to remember Annie by, but Goodspeed left nothing physical on Ben's life. He "created" Jacob, in order to reconcile the idea that he helped kill someone who treated him well and cared for him. When we saw the brief glimpse of Jacob, that was like a glimpse into the mixed up mind of Benjamin Linus.
